At the Buzzer!

Driving back from Cleveland today was not a good idea. If I were smart and did my research they way I was supposed to, I would have driven home yesterday when the snow was a little more manageable. While driving along the blizzardous highways today I found myself contemplating why I didn't leave yesterday. Here I was putting my life, my mother's (who so graciously flew out to Cleveland so that I wouldn't have to drive home by myself) life,and Shea's life in danger when I just could have left yesterday.

I found several reasons for staying that extra day. First and foremost, I got to spend an extra day with my husband. Granted, I spent the whole week in his presence, but it was the first time since Halloween! And Lord knows when we will get any significant time together again. Falling asleep and waking up to Jeff was worth it alone.

Moreover, last night we went to dinner at B.D.'s Mongolian Grill. Have I ever mentioned that is my favorite place to eat in the entire world? Well, it is! Plus, ice cream for dessert from Cold Stone Creamery didn't hurt the joy of staying either!

Last, but certainly not least, Jeff had a game yesterday. Had I left yesterday, I would not have had the opportunity to see his team play their game against Oberlin College. I have always loved watching basketball, especially when I have invested interest in the teams playing. Whenever Jeff's team plays, I have that invested interest. I wanted nothing more than a win; have more points on the scoreboard at the end of the game. That's all I was asking and that is what should have been happening. From the opening tip they fell behind. In the last 3:16 they finally caught up. The last two minutes were back and forth, leaving the game tied with 19 seconds left. Did you enjoy that as much as I did? If I had left yesterday, I would not have experienced that live in person. Beyond the actual winning basket, watching number 15 slump down in defeat was most definitely worth it!
