Jeff is at the Final Four. He got to Indianapolis yesterday. Sent me bragging messages about the beautiful 87 degree weather they were having. Going to the Final Four as a basketball coach is a really cool experience. In fact, Jeff isn't even planning on going to the games. There are so many other things to keep busy with and so many people in the business to run into. Sights to see. Things to attend. A city to explore.
Whenever I mention to people that Jeff is going to/at the Final Four, I get the same question. "Well, why didn't you go with him?" And I think about it. Why didn't I? Hmmm. There is no good answer for this. I have school, yes, but could still go for the weekend. It costs money, yes, but we have ways of making this trip less expensive. I have someone to go with, yes, but he didn't actually ask me.
I, honestly, don't blame him. He is there with some coaching buddies. They are all hanging out, doing their thing. Going and watching practices, running into team buses, going out to dinner, and having a few drinks. All in good fun.
So, tonight when Jeff mentioned that maybe next year, schedule permitting, I could go with him, I was shocked and thrilled. I don't mind hanging out with the guys, really, I don't. Especially if my number one guy is there. Plus, I am a basketball fan. I get it!
