I am sitting here in the airport, the Albany airport, waiting for my flight to Cleveland to begin boarding. I always feel bad leaving Shea, my baby boy. He is staying with our friends Mike and Beth. I have neatly packaged bags of food, treats, and toys for him in a nice Victoria's Secret bag. I chose the Vicky's Secret bag because it suits Mike nicely!
Mike and Beth are getting married next year and are very close to taking the next step of getting a puppy. Jeff and I are trying to push that along a little bit. For Mike's birthday recently, we made a cute little gift basket of puppy supplies. Now, rather than having Shea stay at my parents, we decided to get these two used to having a dog around. Plus, my parents feed Shea like he is a Hoover, and I do sometimes overhear my mother getting grumpy with him. That, I don't care for!
So, we put Shea in good hands. Or so we think. I guess I will find out on Sunday.
Right now, I'm too excited about seeing Jeff than to be thinking about Sunday, bloody Sunday right now. Two hours till I am with my man.

Muffins
I baked some blueberry muffins for my students. We have had state tests the past two weeks, and I want to make sure that they have all eaten breakfast. Since I can't go to their homes and feed them, I have brought in breakfast for them on testing days. Today, blueberry muffins were the fare.
As I was mixing the batter, I told my uncle that I would make a few extra for him. He was captivated by the aroma, but said he probably wasn't going to eat any. He is trying to go on a diet. He can't understand why he can't get rid of the stomach pouch.
I have an idea why. And, it doesn't have anything to do with my 2.5 grams of fat muffins. It may have to do with the food he buys, and gobbles down within two to three days. Check out the pantry:
Surprisingly there is no double stuffed Oreos in there. That's cause he finished those last night. So, no, it is not my muffins that are making it difficult to get rid of that stomach pouch. It's all that stuff there. All that stuff that will probably be gone by Saturday.
I think the muffins would actually be a good diet step. But who I am to give advice. Really, I don't care all that much. If he's happy, I'm happy. If he's not happy, I can't help but be happy because I am going to see Jeff tomorrow! Hoping 7:00 p.m. gets here faster than the 15 hours away that it really is.
So Shoot Me
I went out for drinks after basketball. So shoot me! One of the guys who plays is moving away, so it was kind of a farewell. I say drinks, plural, but I really had one and a half. I know my limits! Plus, I wanted to be sure that I could drive myself, and anyone else who may need my assistance, home.
I've never done this before. Not on a school night anyways. We'll see how that works out tomorrow! Either way, in two nights I can do this with the one I really want to do it with. The real company I want (Jeff, if you can't figure it out!). Until then, I am just passing the time!

Ill-Equipped
My mother admits that when she was pregnant with me, she would occasionally have a small glass of wine. I am quick to remind her of this when I do or say something stupid. That drinking probably had some effect on my decision making.
Really, I'm just messing with her. It is actually proven that it is okay to have an occasion drink. One. Not two or five, one. Apparently Ms. Caruso missed that memo. She really missed it and while I had a good, pleasant day, she now has me fuming. This woman that I do not even know. Take a look at her idiotic self:

One thing is obvious looking at her. She's under the influence of something. It just so happened to be alcohol. A blood alcohol level of 2.0. This is public knowledge because she was caught driving. Pretty selfish, right? Driving that drunk. So, the obvious of this picture, I think the other thing is a little harder to tell. Look carefully at her zebra shirt. In the belly area. She is actually eight months pregnant.
Pregnant, drunk, and driving. Wonderful combo. Good decisions. This woman obviously is not equipped to take care of herself, let alone the child growing inside of her.
I don't mean to be writing about an issue that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with my life, and my time away from my husband, but it just infuriates me. Not only endangered that baby by driving drunk, the possibility that it will never see daylight, also poisoning it with alcohol. If only there were some way to prevent ill-equipped people from having children. Lord knows they seem to be the ones who have circus cars full. While those people who would be great parents, have difficulty conceiving.
Ok, I am done venting for the evening. For the sake of all that makes me happy, I get to see Jeff in 2 more days!

A Thin Line
Maybe you noticed. I had announced last week, that I was going to be spending this past weekend in Cleveland with Jeff. It was wishful thinking. I was a week ahead in my thinking. Really, it is this coming weekend that I will be in Cleveland.
I must say, I am at the point where it has been too long since I have seen Jeff. There is a thin line in my life right now. The line between normal Alicia, and complete insanity. Like I said, it's a thin line! I am standing directly on it right now. I noticed it a little this morning. I was at school, and usually am excited to get my week started off. I like hearing about what the kids did over the weekend and getting to work with them. However, they annoyed me today. A little clue to myself, that I am not all there.
Then, when I was driving home, I had to stop at the bank in our old neck of the woods. As I was driving, taking in the sights of what used to be our town, I felt a sadness come over me.

I wished I was heading home to Jeff, the way I used to when I traveled these roads. I knew it wasn't going to happen. I am not that insane. But, it is nice to know that Friday I will be heading to see him. This week will be torturous, but will end at some point. I know it will.
I was almost going to allow myself to be grumpy this week, as I simply miss my husband. But, I know that would not fly with Jeff. He would not be happy about that, so I won't let it happen. I will be on cloud nine Friday. Until then, I will stay slightly below on cloud 8.

Green-Eyed Girl
My father always tells me that I have the black lifeless eyes of a shark. I don't like that they are, so-called, lifeless, but he is right. So dark, there is no difference between my pupils and my iris.
They are what they are. Black holes that don't actually see very well. Thus, the need for contacts. I love my contacts and am very thankful for them. Unfortunately, this morning, I dropped one down the drain. If I walked around with one contact, I would get dizzy. That option was out. If I walked around with my glasses on, I'd probably get spit on. That was out. So, I luckily remembered a pair of contacts I had saved from quite a while ago. A pair that was somewhat different and special. They were green contacts, the kind that make your eyes look a different color. I popped them in, their color somewhat darkened by the black holes beneath them, and was on my way.
The best part of these green contacts I wore around today, were certainly not the cat-looking eyes they gave me, but the memory of Jeff seeing them for the first time. Being the sneaky biotch I am, I got a trial pair of these green contact lenses without telling Jeff. I put them in a day I was meeting Jeff out for lunch. I was curious as to how long it would take for him to notice and to see exactly what he would say about it.
I couldn't help but notice Jeff looking at me funny on this particular day. He kept looking and looking at me. And believe me, he usually has no reason to look at my scummy self. Finally, after what seemed like much contemplating, Jeff finally said, "I never noticed the color of your eyes before."
Got him! After I found the strength to control my hysteria, I explained to him what I had done. He likes my black lifeless holes better than the green cat eyes. Which is good, because the colored contacts feel funny on my eyes.

Maybe In A Past Life
The sun leaked in through the window and I knew today was going to be the most beautiful of 2010 thus far. Any other day, I would be overjoyed to hop out of bed, take Shea outside, and enjoy it. Today, I wished for death. Having limited sleep due to the inability to breath, all I wanted to do with my stuffed up head was sleep.
Shea began to stir, and I was nearly positive that more sleep wouldn't happen. But, everyone is always saying dogs' have a sixth sense. Maybe they do. Shea got up and walked around for a little, but then came back to bed and laid on my feet. I think he was trying to telling me not to worry about him for a little and get some sleep. He could tell I needed it. Anyone who could have seen me would have known that!
What a nice boy, right?
He let me get some more sleep and once I got going, we went outside for an extended period of time. He deserved it. Once I was able to muster up enough energy to drive, we went up to my parents house. Lucky for us, my mother had picked up my grandmother to visit for the day. Always a good time.
With that, I'd like to enrich all of your lives with Grandma's view on the relationship Jeff and I have.
Apparently, this devout Roman-Catholic woman, believes that we have all had previous lives. Odd isn't it. I thought that was not a part of our belief system. Anyhow, she believes that Jeff and I must have known each other in another life. Specifically, she thinks we hated each other. And this, our marriage and love, is in fact God setting us straight. This is our punishment from our previous life of hatred toward each other. Jeff agreed that this was probably true. He is certainly paying for his past live's sins now.
Grandma believes that she was actually an asian princess in another life. Maybe that is where I got my eyes!
